Dr. Johannes J. Christian is the founding Pastor of The Adoration and Peace Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Christian received his Doctor of Ministry in 1995 from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio. He has been instructor for the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship, (New Orleans) in the School of Ministry, since its inception. He is widely known for his Christian Afrocentric workshops and lectures depicting the Afrocentric presence in the Bible. Dr. Christian participated in the National Leadership Summit Columbus (panelist with Dr. Cain Hope Felder, Dr. Gilcrest Adam and Archbishop Father Joe Stallings. Dr. Christian has been contributing writer for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship School of Ministry Syllabus Booklet. He was the Social Gospel Columnist for The Rejoice Paper, Columbus, Ohio. The official Sunday morning worship for the Adoration And Peace Baptist Church (AAPBC) took place on the 1st Sunday in April 1993. The service was held in the auditorium of Johnson Park Middle school at 1130 Waverly Street, Columbus, Ohio. There were 23 people who united with the church on that Sunday.

On may the 3rd, Rev. Larron Jackson of the Good Sheppard Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado, was the guest speaker at 11:30 am service. a formal installation service was held at 6:00 pm by Pastor Charles Booth and the Mount. Olivet Baptist Church family of Columbus Ohio. They came to officially install the founding pastor Johannes J Christian and the official board of trustees.

The late Georgia Felicia Davis Christian and Shirley Elaine Butler, and Christine Marie Grinter were installed as trustees. Georgia was installed as director of Christian education for AAPBC. A charge was extended to all the church members. We shared the Scottwood Congregational Church on Barnett road for the next year. In 1998, we moved to the Bryden Apartment house at 1555 Bryden road the church experienced much growth. While we were at this location, we started a van ministry and ministered to the residents in those apartments. We had our first summer church camp for our children, and we purchased our own church instruments, hymnals, and bibles.

We moved to our current location at 786 Mulberry St. in the fall of 2003. This building we purchased from the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. We currently have a Sunday School Hour at 10:30 Morning Worship at 11:30 Tuesday Bible Study at 7:00pm. This Church is affiliated with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship. Bishop Paul S. Morton is our International Presiding Bishop. We are a member of the Free Gospel Churches of the Lord Jesus Christ Fellowship. Bishop Fred Marshall of the Smyrna Baptist Church of Columbus, Ohio is the Presiding Prelay.

Our church is involved with: world and local missions, A re-entry ministry for those who have been incarcerated and a growing youth ministry program for inner city youth.

AAPBC is known as "a church with a spiritual vision uniting all of God's people."
